Springfield Armory introduced a polished blued version of its SA-35 9mm pistol, combining classic styling with modern upgrades such as improved ergonomics, enhanced sights, and increased magazine capacity, with an MSRP of $799.

Springfield Armory has announced the release of a new polished blued variant of its SA-35 9mm pistol, offering shooters and collectors a refined take on the classic “wood and steel” handgun aesthetic. The new model introduces a high-gloss finish to the company’s modern interpretation of the historic Browning Hi-Power platform.
Designed and manufactured in the United States, the SA-35 blends traditional styling cues with contemporary engineering standards. The polished blued edition elevates the visual appeal of the platform while retaining the mechanical upgrades that have defined Springfield’s reintroduction of this iconic handgun design.

Unlike the standard SA-35, which features a matte-blue finish, the polished blued model undergoes an additional hand-polishing process prior to receiving a traditional hot salt bluing treatment. The result is a deep, reflective finish reminiscent of early 20th-century pistol craftsmanship, appealing to enthusiasts who appreciate heirloom-quality presentation.
Complementing the high-gloss steel is a set of checkered walnut grips, chosen not only for their classic appearance but also for their secure purchase in the hand. The pairing of polished blue steel and walnut panels reinforces the timeless design language that has made the P-35 pattern one of the most recognizable service pistols in history.

The SA-35 retains the forged slide and frame construction introduced with Springfield’s relaunch of the platform, enhancing strength and durability. A cold hammer-forged barrel contributes to long-term accuracy and service life, while internal refinements improve reliability under modern manufacturing tolerances.
Ergonomic enhancements include a redesigned hammer intended to reduce the likelihood of hammer bite and an extended thumb safety for more intuitive manipulation. The pistol also features updated sights, including a white-dot front sight and a serrated Tactical Rack rear sight designed to improve visibility and assist with one-handed slide manipulation if needed.
Magazine capacity has been increased to 15 rounds an upgrade over the original 13-round configuration using a flush-fitting polished blue magazine. A subtly flared magazine well further aids in faster, more confident reloads without altering the pistol’s classic profile.
