The 2011 concept originally popularized decades ago by companies like Para-Ordnance reimagined the traditional 1911 with a two-piece frame and double-stack capacity. Kimber’s 2K11 refines that formula.
Unlike many polymer-module competitors, Kimber machines the lower grip module from aluminum, adding rigidity and durability while maintaining refined ergonomics. The stainless steel upper frame houses the fire-control components and slide rails, while the lower portion incorporates aggressive texture and sculpted contours for improved control.
The result? A full-size .45 ACP with 13+1 capacity nearly doubling traditional single-stack 1911 round count.
Kimber lists the trigger pull between three and four pounds. The tested pistol consistently broke at 3 lbs., 2 oz., delivering a crisp, clean release that makes precision shooting almost effortless.
